Come release. Why hold on? Come Release. Make room for new opportunities. You were never made to be a holding vessel. As an energetic being there is a constant ebb and flow, both within and without and through. Not a holding. Remember everything is connected. Even the physical body understands this. You can only hold your breath so long… breathing is an ebb and flow. Blockages in your flow of blood are dangerous. There is constant movement in the blood through out your body. Rhythms you are made of rhythms. Rhythms and flows these are natural forms. Vibrant, nourishing, healing, bold.
There are three forms of releasing to consider. Releasing the energy of others. Releasing energy you hold. Releasing the energy absorbed during the day.
The world is a rough and tumble place, physically and energetically. Lots of free will exercised by people who are asleep, in habit, in fear. In fact it can be very funny. Imagine having a conversation with someone who is in the past as he responds to all you say. Or with someone who is in the future? They seem as if they are there but one is lost in memory, responding through the veil of time; the other is wanting in the future. Even more complicated if you the listener are not listening or are living somewhere else also. Maybe grounded in self-interest? Greeting in wanting or in-knowing. Whew, many opportunities for bumps, bruises, and misunderstandings.
So imagine a natural state of being in which everyone is awake, connected, standing in the present, in-learning, deeply interested in others, in-service, full of respect and deep appreciation. Feelings are replaced with full experience. People experience wholeness. The energy exchanged is almost always nourishing between and among people. Why would they share anything else? The flows of energy are bold, warm, nourishing. Because the connection is so vital there is no need for holding. No worry that the wonderful experience might be cut off or withdrawn.
In a rough and tumble life – energy from other may also be intrusive, invasive, violent. Consider children in a perfect state of in-learning, present in the moment, open sharing. They absorb much – they can be filled up – if love, appreciation, and respect – any form of nourishment is withheld or withdrawn – they can learn to hold. No child should have to learn to hold. This is the Principles of Children. Start with this one principle it will carry you far. Unfortunately most people learn to hold to all vary degrees. Some hold to protect themselves, burying energy to protect from re-living the experience. So you might have had any type of experience that taught you to hold. Some hold in grief, experiencing the loss of someone or something. Afraid to let go. They live now more in the past, waiting for someone or something to return.
The simplest practice of letting go of someone’s energy is to return the energy to him or her. This is rarely as single practice and may need to be done multiple times. Sometimes you are surprised and reminded, that you had not released all the energy of the person. Form this practice in whatever way you like – breath throughout the practice, hold the intention to return the energy to the person(s). In some cases you might find it helpful to say “ this is not my energy, it does not live here, I release it” Do not rush the practice – stay with it. This practice works whether the person is living in his body or not in his body any longer.
Is this forgiving that you are talking about? No, this is releasing – which is a practice with only one intention to release and let go. Forgiveness may in some cases naturally follow this. Forgiveness is tricky. Consider not telling someone to forgive. Better to suggest releasing and let them decide what is next. Forgiveness can be from the heart or the mind. Forgiveness from the mind –watch out for this.
The second form of release is to release your energy that diminishes yourself and others. Anger, frustration, demands, judgments, irritations let them go. There are bigger pockets too holding “wrongs.” It is common to hold “wrongs” experiences in which we were wronged – embarrassed, bullied, cheated, lied to, humiliated, ignored, diminished, physically harmed, guilted, forced. These are a few examples.
This inventory of wrongs can flow way back to childhood… the energy of others and our experience of others and our judgments and feelings can shape our actions and experience in the present. So have a direct experience in the present by actively working on the wrongs you hold. Release your energy.
Become aware of the wrongs you store, when you overreact, when your response is automatic and the disturbance you experience is higher than the situation. Be prepared for these moments, recognize they tell you about another wrong, something(s) you are holding from the past that actively rise in the present. This is an opportunity to release! The suggested form for releasing energy you hold is to let it go into the earth. Down through the any objects between you and earth. Let the energy flow deep into the earth. The earth will cleanse this energy and return it to a natural form.
Now with the both these practices you can begin immediately – keep attention on your breathing, make the intention to release and if you are able visual the energy leaving you energetic body. As your sensitivity increases to the energy in your system that is not yours or is not helpful to you — the practice will begin to shape itself. Recognize also that there is a form to perfect – not make “perfect” – but like any craftsperson there is a craft here to releasing. The good thing is that you are a natural. And releasing is a natural process. So begin your practice and let it shape itself.
The final form of releasing is to let go of any accumulations during the day that are not helpful to your being present, centered, connected and sharing. Everyone is different and similar in that they collect and accumulated energy, impressions, feelings, vibrations – please pick words you are comfortable with the someone how indicate the energetic. If you have been in a conflict or any type of disturbance with people release any energy of theirs you might have picked up. Even if all you notice is a mild form of anxiousness, worry, repetitive thoughts, a headache — hold the intention to clear your system and release the energy into the earth as you breathe.
This simple practice can be invaluable to you, especially if you are sensitive. Since everything and everyone is connected — there are also larger energy patterns of conflict, dis-ease, and disturbance within and between communities. When children are around adults who are in-conflict, judging each other and actively creating disturbances – you can be sure that they are absorbing the energy and it affects them. This happens to us as adults also. The larger conflicts in communities affect our well being… direct this energy of disturbance into the earth to be healed and cleansed.
