The change that could occur if you release the
voices of the grandmothers around the planet cannot be calculated.
Deep, resting within your communities are the grandmothers. They are a natural source of wisdom.
Grandmothers hold the traditions of the past – sharing them for the benefit of the children, family and community. The expression of their wisdom is anchored in the well-being of children, family and community.
Grandmothers will emerge, as healers in your communities, for there are many wounds both in relationships and in communities. They are natural healers through words, sound, wisdom and energy.
Great is the loss when grandmothers are separated from the children. Everyone’s soul aches from this separation. Combined children and grandmothers are a natural form. They complete one another. There is a sadness in communities that place children in school and grandmothers in places of rest, isolated from one another.
Encourage the grandmothers to meet together, for they will find the measure and timbre of their voices when the sit in circles. Women who already sit in circles, invite grandmothers to your circle. If you are a grandmother who has found her voice, your time is well spent helping other grandmothers find their voices.
Understand that many grandmothers have grown up and lived in communities where they were told to be silent as girls and again as women and again as mothers. The only place they had to practice developing their voices were in whispers with one another and in the songs and stories they told the children. For some, there must be an invitation because they will not force their wisdom on anyone.
So, when you invite them forward as grandmothers you are doing a great service. For it is natural, in the later years of life, to feel the natural pressure to complete your process of growth – to develop your voice and discover your gift, if this did not happen in childhood.
Invite them to advise, counsel on issues of the community. When they sit in circle, the wisdom of the ancestors flow, the energy patterns of the future are revealed and they deeply hold the generations of children yet to be born. Of anyone in the community, grandmothers naturally experience future generations and bring the presence of future generations into decision-making. The grandmothers have no agenda of self-interest. They radiate well-being.
Let the councils of grandmothers emerge, help this emergence, encourage it. When it is time for a council, do this. Gather into your council rooms, your board rooms, your governing rooms – women who are grandmothers, the mothers of your mothers and surrender your decisions to them. Trust that they will walk into the light, for this is their nature.
The silence of the voices of our mothers and grandmothers exists everywhere in societies around the world, in the most prosperous countries and the poorest. When we release the voices of our mothers and grandmothers we will grow and become more awake as a global community.

P.S.
Possibly
these words raise the question in some – what about the grandfathers? The age
of men is completing. Their voices have filled the halls forever. Now is the
Millennium of Women. The flow is shifting as a natural process of growth and
healing. No one will be excluded, all voices will be heard in the Millennium of
Women. A new song is coming forward from the voices of women, of mothers,
of grandmothers. Listen well for there is much to be learned!
